Commissioner of Oaths

In Ontario, the practice of commissioning is governed by the Commissioners for Taking Affidavits Act (the “Act”). A Commissioner under the Act may administer oaths and take affidavits, declarations and affirmations as mandated by law.

Authorized by the Province of Ontario

In federal and provincial nomination immigration processes, signing in front of a Commissioner of Oaths may be required. Gloridia's Commissioner of Oaths, authorized by the Ontario government, is empowered to witness formal swearing of oaths, declarations, and affidavits.

Affidavits serve as both declarations and proofs, attesting to the truthfulness of statements. They are commonly used in immigration hearings and court evidence presentations to bolster cases with factual details.

Some common types of oaths:

Immigration materials: Applicant solemnly verifies the factual accuracy of immigration documents.
Court materials: Applicant affirms the factual accuracy of materials presented in the Immigration Refugee Board (IRB).

Name Change Application for Adults and Minors
Lost Passport Affidavit
Travel Consent letter for children traveling outside Canada
Travel Consent for a friend taking responsibility to travel outside Canada with your kid

Fees

Fees for commissioning for taking affidavit of oath is

$25.00 plus HST per each stamp/signed document;
each additional stamp/signed document is $10.00 plus HST
